Real Power

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. (John 1:1)

The words Jesus spoke leading to his arrest in the olive garden demonstrate God's awesome power through his words. These words were not directed towards healing or helping an individual. They were spoken words that displayed Jesus as the Son of God. When the soldiers approached Jesus, he asked them who they were looking for, and they responded Jesus of Nazareth. When Jesus replied, "I am he," the soldiers "went backwards and fell to the ground" (John 18:1-11). Peter, walking with Jesus and seeing his many miracles, witnessed the scene with the soldiers and in a moment of panic decided Jesus needed his help. Now Jesus’ words practically took the soldiers out, I'm not sure what the sword was going to do, for physical weapons are no match to God's power. Although Peter's intentions were good, his actions were incorrect. The power given to us is not physical but spiritual through the word of God: "God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon's scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God's Word. We can't get away from it no matter what" (Hebrews 4:22 TM). Jesus wasn't this weak individual powerless to man. He allowed these things to happen. He loves us so much that he gave us the same power that he refrained from using all because of his love for us. What a mighty God we serve! Aren't you glad that he decided to give up everything just so we could have a personal relationship with Him and eternal life? While Jesus was on the earth, it was His words that raised the dead, dismissed demons, healed the lame, and gave sight to the blind. And while we are in this earthly state, it is only through the word of God that we can be victorious in our life. We must use the gift God has given us by speaking the word of God into our situation, into our lives every day so that we will walk in victory. There is power in the word of God.

Every day without fail God provides the same high proportion of Grace and Mercy to us without an account or reprimand…you can search all over and never find a love like this.

Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. (Jude 1:24 NLT)

Pray Without Ceasing

Lord, open my eyes so I can see the path you have specifically carved out for me, condition my heart with your love and extinguish the contamination that deceives. Anoint my ears to hear and respond in submission to your voice so I will know the authentic will of God for my life.

Lord Can We Talk?

Lord I messed up, I feel terrible for what I have done…

My Child, I am tender and compassionate to those who fear me, I know how weak you are I made you from dust, besides I forgave all of your sins some time ago. Psalm 103: 3, 13-14

Lord, how do I move pass this?

It will not be by force nor by your strength but by my Spirit. Forgive yourself and move forward in the work I have given you. Zech 4:6

Lord how can you still love me after this?

My Dear Child, I chose you and I am the one that justifies. I gave you my very special gift so that sin could not rule over you and condemn your life. I set the record straight once and for all because I knew all of my children would fall over and over again. Be confident in this one thing that NOTHING can separate my love for you not sin, people, or circumstances. I covered it all on the cross. Keep your focus on me I didn’t miss one detail of your life when I created you. I got this! Romans 8:31-39, Matt 10:30-31

We All Struggle with Sin

I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin. (Romans 7:21-25)

O Lord my God, who hast created me after thine own image and similitude, grant me this grace, which Thou hast shown to be so great and so necessary for salvation, that I may conquer my wicked nature, which draweth me to sin and to perdition. For I feel in my flesh the law of sin, contradicting the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the obedience of sensuality in many things; nor can I resist its passions, unless Thy most holy grace assist me, fervently poured into my heart. Imitation of Christ by Thomas A. Kempis

God Do You Love Me?

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness." (Jeremiah 31:3)

I believe the majority of problems in the world result as a lack of individuals not having a full understanding and heart condition of God’s love.  They know of God but have not allowed their hearts to be filled with the understanding of God’s love. Knowing God’s love takes form in a personal relationship with the Father, walking and trusting in His every word as he reveals himself to you in everyday situations. It strengthens you and gives you a confidence like no other. Bask in his love, read about his love, stand on his love, trust in his love, and you will exclaim like the Prophet Job, “I had heard about you with my own ears, but now I have seen you with my own eyes” (Job 42:5).

The greatest gift given to you is God’s love the greatest gift you can give to yourself is accepting his love fully.

Create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10

Lord today clean my heart; don’t allow past experiences and hurts to dictate my behavior. Replace my heart with yours so I am able to act, see, and respond like you. Lord, renew my spirit from judgmental thoughts and a defective attitude; give me your spirit so that my conscious and relationship with you is unblemished and faultless. I surrender and acknowledge I am unable to do this on my own and have the desire to do whatever it takes to divinely behold your reflection instead of mine. All this I ask Lord so that you will inhabit the glory and the praise.
