Brokenness

When you continuously attract people that are broken many times it’s a reflection of your own emotional state.

brokenness + brokenness = a broken relationship

Healing only comes when you really understand how much God adores you while you reciprocate that love back to him.

brokenness + Christ Love = Wholeness

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandment, to a thousand generations. Deut 7:9

I believe Jesus demonstration of love was so intense and horrific on the cross to impress in our hearts how much we are valued, so we would have a guide to never settle for anything less.

It Is Finished.....
John 19:30

Before Christ took his last breath on the cross, he spoke the words "it is finished." I started thinking about everything that was finished on the cross because of the ultimate sacrifice of our Savior and it gave me such hope, confidence, and joy. What Christ did for us on the cross is as real today as it was over 2000 years ago.
Life and death is in the power of the tongue so I declare by the blood of Jesus that:

Sickness, Finished
Depression, Finished
Guilt & Shame, Finished
Abuse, Finished
Poverty, Finished
Hunger, Finished
Homelessness, Finished
Lack, Finished
Abandonment, Finished
Senseless Deaths, Finished
War, Finished
Crime, Finished

Although love is a choice it’s a command from God, he didn't make it optional. Perhaps the countless reports of innocent individuals being hurt and dying at the hands of others stems from the lack of love they received themselves.

For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Gal 5:14

I Will Give Him Praise!
2 Samuel 6:17-23

Imagine David’s enthusiasm bringing the ark of God back to Jerusalem after defeating the Philistines. This was David’s second attempt to bring the ark back and David was so excited the Bible tells us he danced out of his royal robe. David leaped and danced before the Lord right out of his clothes. King David didn’t allow his title or who was watching to stop his praise. I believe that not only was David giving God praise for bringing the ark back, I believe David had a few flashbacks of being a shepherd boy and how God gave him the power and courage to defeat lions and bears in the midnight hour of watching sheep. I believe David remembered how God honored his faith while going after a giant called Goliath, and protected him from Saul who vehemently sought after him to take his life. See once you get a few flashbacks along with a great defeat it will make you praise God like you never have before. Michal, David’s wife obviously had the same jealous spirit as her father she couldn’t understand David’s praise and instead of just being quiet she expressed her jealousy in a way that was meant to degrade David as King, but listen to David’s respond: “It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel - I will celebrate before the Lord. I will become even more undignified than this... (2 Samuel 7:21&22) In other words, “Michal, you thought that was something you haven’t seen anything yet.” What’s my point, don’t allow people or circumstances to steal your praise & worship. You don’t have an obligation to people to justify your praise, but you do have an obligation to give God praise.

Have a David type of spirit and dance before the Lord!

How Much Is Jesus Worth To You?

Do you ever wonder what Judas thoughts were before he traded Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, did he think about what he would purchase with the money or, how he would face the other disciples after his deception. Judas had several options for a spending spree, 30 pieces of silver was enough money to purchase a slave, a small farm, or hire a skilled worker for several months. Judas traded Jesus friendship, wisdom, and love for 30 pieces of silver. He could have at least negotiated a better price to show that Jesus was of some value to him, Judas asked the priest “how much will you give me if I hand him over to you?” He took the very first offer they gave, thirty pieces of silver for our Lord and Savior. (Matt 26:14) So ponder this question, what is Jesus worth to you? Or, what do we trade Jesus for? Personal relationships, pleasing flesh, prestige, position, material possessions. See we sell Jesus out when we hide our Christianity from others to fit in, when we lie, use profanity, and engage in addictive habitual behavior. Jesus didn’t put a material price on his love for us; he willingly gave up everything so we could have eternal life. He didn’t weigh the cost or try to cut a deal with the Father, he simple said, “I’ll go no one else can fix this but me, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13) Our love for Christ should move us to act in obedience to his will and ways. Judas tried to reverse the betrayal by returning the money to the priest but it was to late, once the words are spoken or the actions achieved we can’t push rewind and correct the wrong. Remember when you were in grade school and a classmate would say something really cruel and we would say, “Take it back,” well we can’t take wrong actions back, however Jesus has made a way of escape by allowing us to ask Him for forgiveness and giving us another chance to make the next situation right. Hold Jesus in such high esteem in your heart and daily walk that nothing will be worth denying him for.
