They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back. He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right. He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing. You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going. Now you’re named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls. 1 Peter 2:22-23 MSG
So many times
we are so quick to respond or react to an offensive comment on gesture, however
Jesus, the King of Kings & Lord of Lords with all power in His hands was
able to “suffer in silence” with the confidence that his Father would handle
all things. I believe the detail of Christ response when being persecuted is so
clearly described in the Word of God to assure us that we don’t have to fight
with those that attack our character. God won the battle for us in silence and
power on the cross. Our job is to be obedient in our daily
living through Jesus Christ having confidence in him to settles all accounts
and provide us with instruction for every situation.
Now
all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you
with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to
him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory,
majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and
beyond all time! Amen.
Jude
1:24 NLT
