Authentic Love
God
in His divinity allowed those whom He created to torture and nail Him on a
cross, and then allowed himself to die in the flesh because of His love for us.
How many people do you know that would suffer and die for you just on a
possibility that you might love them in return?
What a price for the only true and living God to pay. He denied His
divinity for relationship with what He created. It baffles the mind, and can
only be slightly understood with the heart, as you begin to love Him in return.
This
is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, His one and only Son. And
this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in Him, anyone can
have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his
Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He
came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trust in him is
acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death
sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to
believe in the one-of-a kind Son of God when introduced to him. John 3:16 MSG
What we have received is not the spirit
of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what
God has freely given us.
1 Corinthians 2:12 NIV
