Rejection

Many times people reject us based on total ignorance. The reason I say this is because ignorance simply means "not knowing." Have you ever been in a situation when someone for no apparent reason just did not like you? You never had harsh words, never spoke anything against them. They just vividly did not like you. When pondering over this situation, I was reminded by God of how the Pharisees hated and rejected Him "for no reason at all." Isaiah 53:3 states: "He was despised and rejected by men." How do you despise Jesus? Our Lord who left His heavenly home to be born of this earth to die for our sins? I believe they hated Him because He stood for truth and love, and they stood for religion and a showy outward appearance. They despised His miracles, His love, and sometimes even His ability to be silent when accused falsely, His inner strength. When we are of Christ and exhibit His character in our lives, we will be despised also, sometimes even by our own Christian friends. I Cor 1:27-31 tells us that God chose the despised things of this world so that he could redeem them to glorify His name. Since God is doing all the work, no man can boast about it. They can only boast on how God has worked in their lives. So the next time you are rejected, start giving God praise in your spirit, boasting on Him who has given you the power to overcome the rejection of man and accept and welcome God's awesome love that "surpasses all understanding." God's love will sustain you in every situation. It’s a promise straight from heaven.

Dear Lord, thank you that Your love extends far beyond rejection, and loneliness. Thank you for making provisions to be our everything and providing the way to be with us through every situation. Help us to remember that we are never rejected by You only loved. Help us accept Your love and hold it close to our hearts. Give us Your spirit and character so that we will extend love to others so they may see Christ in us and accept Your wonderful invitation of eternal life. Lord, thank you for loving us more than we can ever comprehend.
