Will You Accept the Call?

When Mary as a young girl accepted the call to be the mother of Jesus, she didn't know all the consequences of her acceptance. The angel Gabriel did not say, “Mary, because of the calling on your life you will be rejected by family and friends. Joseph, your fiancé, will not believe you were miraculously impregnated. You will have to travel while pregnant to Bethlehem and give birth among animals in a barn. After Jesus is born you will have to hide Jesus for two years from the hand of Herod, who will be seeking to kill him. Even after Jesus is an adult and many people witness His awesome power, your own people will not believe Jesus is the Messiah. You will watch Jesus being rejected over and over again before his death. His enemies will beat him and then nail Him to the cross.” If Gabriel had included these details, do you think Mary's answer would have been, "May it be to me as you have said" (Luke 1:38). We will never know, but my point is that God doesn't provide the details that come with our calling to follow Christ; however we can learn from Mary's experience. Mary endured until the end. How? By believing and trusting God through the hurt, disappointment, and pain. We don't have the details, but our mission is to follow Christ to the end. I believe that knowing the details in our imperfect state would frighten us right out of our calling, so instead of Jesus giving us the details of our walk, he gave us what we needed to complete it: His powerful Word and the Holy Spirit.
As you walk in your anointing today, I pray the following words from God will encourage your spirit to endure to the end:

“....by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God ever to prove false or deceive us, we who have fled to [Him] for refuge might have mighty indwelling, strength and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope appointed for us and set before [us]”
(Heb 6:18 AMP).
